FAQs

Website Content

I want some unique content for my website. Can you help?

Definitely. I’ve created engaging web content for many brands during my career, including big names in the retail, finance and travel sectors. Whether you just want an extra page to let your customers know about your company’s latest product or service, or have a bigger content creation project in mind, contact me and we can discuss the details.

I think my website content needs revamping, but I don’t know where to start. What would you suggest?

Get in touch. I can review your existing content for you and give you some advice. You might find that some of it just needs tweaking while other sections need more extensive work. There may also be opportunities for us to add content to your site so that you can promote your products or services even more effectively. Whatever your web content requirements, however, we can work together to come up with a plan that suits you.

I want to write my website content myself. Can you check it for me?

Of course. I can simply proofread it for you or provide a more extensive editing service, depending on your needs. To find out more about how I can help, just complete the contact form.

Blogging

I want to start a blog for my business but don’t have time to write regular posts. Can you write them for me?

Blogging can be a fantastic way of engaging existing and potential customers and can help you to boost your brand’s profile. What’s more, search engines love fresh content. If you set up a blog, it’s important that you post regularly, however, which can be time-consuming.

That’s where I can help you out. Not only can I write regular blog posts for you so that you don’t have to worry about them, I can also help you to plan your blogging schedule so that you can incorporate relevant and timely posts to suit your company’s needs.

I can even develop a wider strategy for you so that your blog and social media content will work together seamlessly.

If keeping blogs up to date is so important, why aren’t you adding posts to your blog regularly?

Well-spotted. It doesn’t look good, right? Well, here’s the thing. As a freelance copywriter, editor and proofreader, my priority is ensuring that my clients’ work is done to high standards and on time. That means that if you hire me, you can be sure that I’m concentrating on getting the job done.

Product Descriptions

I need product descriptions for my catalogue and/or online store. Have you written copy like this before?

Crafting compelling product descriptions is one of my specialities. I’ve written them for many different companies including well-known online stores and smaller brands. I have experience in writing product and category descriptions for brands specialising in fashion, electrical goods, DIY products, furniture, homeware and more, and am capable of writing them in a tone of voice that reflects your brand identity.

My online store sells products made by other companies. Can’t I just use the standard product descriptions supplied by the manufacturers?

You can. In fact, many online store owners do – and that’s the problem. If you’re selling popular products manufactured by big brands, you’ll probably find a whole host of websites using the same descriptions. Using the same wording as everybody else won’t do anything to help your store’s search engine rankings or assist your online store to stand out from the crowd.

Creating unique product descriptions can be a way of differentiating your offering and persuading your site viewers to buy.

Offline Communications

Do you just write and edit website content?

No. While I have years of experience in digital content creation and social media management, I have a background in traditional marketing too. I can create or edit copy for your brochures, leaflets, catalogues, standard letters, newsletters and more.

Academic Proofreading

Can you proofread my thesis/academic paper?

I have proofread an academic journal and several academic books. I’ve also proofread academic papers and theses. To find out more about my academic proofreading services, get in touch via the contact form.

General

What are your copywriting, editing and proofreading rates?

Every project is different and some require more work than others. It wouldn’t be fair, for example, if I charged a proofreading client whose copy was in pretty good shape when they submitted it the same amount as a client whose copy needed extensive work. As a result, I assess projects on an individual basis when calculating my rates. To obtain a quote for your copywriting, editing or proofreading project, just contact me.

Why don’t you include details of all your clients and the work you’ve carried for them on your website?

Confidentiality is key when it comes to working for other people and many of the projects that I’ve worked on during my career have been subject to non-disclosure agreements.
